Sorry about the long wait since the last post.
Today, I started to crop pics of my characters to pop into an animation.
All will be revealed soon...

I nearly forgot to pop a post up today.
Thank God I remembered.
Imagine what would happen if I forgot! It's almost too scary to contemplate, so I won't.
Anyhow, today I printed out my two characters, EGBERT and Professor Gerhardt Sebastian von Schreck (mwa-ha-ha-haaaaa!) on a super-high quality printer (so glossy...), cut them out, put them together, and begun to photograph them. I'll pop a few pictures on here when I get them.
Cheerio.
P.S. There was no post on Wednesday because nothing interesting happened. Although that hasn't stopped me posting before! But sometimes it will. So there.

Oh, by the way...
There was no post last Tuesday because an English exam deprived me of the morning lessons, including IT.
So now you know.
Over and out.

A continuation of the backdrop work.
I continued my work on the backdrop today. I added some test tubes and stuff. Looks quite corking, I don't mind telling you.
As you were.
As you were.

Awfully sorry about the lateness.
This blog entry will be for both Tuesday's lesson (yesterday) and today's lesson, as I forgot to put up a post recently.
Well, this is actually just for Tuesday because today's lesson did not exist. That's right! It ceased to be entirely! But only temporarily - we had a lecture about health and safety at our work experience placements instead.
But I digress. I must do my duty and inform you people, that have nothing better to do than to read this blog, about what happened on Tuesday. So here goes.
Ahem.
Not much, actually.
I just finished off Egbert and started to...
Oh, wait! I did do something interesting! I'm sorry, I completely forgot. I began work on my backdrop!
In hindsight, that isn't very exciting either.
My sincerest apologies for this shambling wreck of a post.
'Bye.

The continuation of the work on Egbert
Right.
Today, I went back to good ol' Macromedia Fireworks and continued the design for Egbert. I have begun to notice that I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to these designs. I spent quarter of an hour trying to remember how I acheived the rust effect as I was ill during the last IT lesson. Not actually in the lesson, as that would have been disgusting, but I stayed at home for three days, during which I missed Wednesday's IT lesson. I then spent the rest of the lesson applying precise shading to my drawing of the wires between the joints of Egbert's right arm. Not a waste of valuable time at all.
Oh, yes, and I posted this.
Until next time.

A brief break from all the arty business
No drawing today. No sir. Today, we began our work on something else. For many, this moment in the curricular timeline was a black moment, as it signified the beginning of a process so unnecessarily complicated, many have lost their minds in the vain attempt to complete it during the controversial '5-a-day' era.
Today, once again, we took the first sheepish steps down a seemingly endless path.
Today was the day we began our e-portfolio.
May God have mercy on our souls.
Anyhow, I'll keep you posted.
Keep on blog-goggling, my friends.

A first look at Egbert...
Here he be.
I like the rusty look. It looks really realistic, and I am rather proud of it. Thanks must go to Mister Louis Frith for added assistance and idea contributions. Cheers, lad.
Anyhow.
If you think I'm breaking tension by adding a picture, in direct violation to my previous post, you can buzz off because it's my blog and I can do as I wish.
As you were.

Egbert is given a face.
Today, I gave Egbert a face. It looks quite cool - i made his mouth look like it was generated on a computer screen below his eyes (which makes sense, as most mouths are situated below the corresponding eyes of the subject), and his eyes glow yellow inside a black visor/hole thing. Like Bender.
I will not post a photo yet as the tension would be shattered far too soon.
Cheerio.

Commencing Robotification!
Hahahahahahahaaa!
Anyhow, I have started the net for Egbert the robot today.
As I have very little further to say, this post ends...

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you... PROFESSOR GERHARDT SEBASTIAN VON SCHRECK!
Look at him! Wahey! The Professor is in the building! Woo!
Ahem.
Today, I finished the net for Professor von Schreck (giggle), and then took clippings of the net, dragged them to another Firewirks file, and moved and flipped and edited and distorted them to create a '3D' rendering of the Professor. Mainly because it would give me a good idea as to how Prof. von Schreck will look fully assembled, and partly because I wanted to try out my brilliant idea of turning it into a realistic looking image of the final model.
Now to work on the robot.
I shall call him Egbert. But for a valid reason; it stands for:
Electronic
General
Being
Engineered for
Rational
Troubleshooting
Which I think sounds really good. I shall most certainly keep all you shiny people posted, I will.
Over and out, eh what.

What I went and did today
Right. Today I continued with the net of Professor Gerhardt Sebastian von Schreck (HA H-HA HA HAAAAAA!), just giving it a bit more artistic treatment. Hold on - I might be able to put up an image to show you how it's coming along.
Here we are.

This is going to look so awesome when it's finished and constructed. I still have to do the robot yet. Not the dance.
I shall most certainly keep you posted, my dear blog-gogglers.

Back from the holidays, ready to do some graphics!
Oh, yes.
Today, I did another image of a mad pig (don't ask - school's decision) to help jog my memory of the many wonderous techniques of Macromedia Fireworks (MS Paint on stereoids). 'Twas quite fun. That's about it.
Had a look back at the half-done net of Professor Gerhardt Sebastian von Schreck (I still laugh evilly when I hear it), but I didn't do anything to it.
I shall keep you posted.
Oh, and check out the YouTube link. 'Tis I!

More Work on the Net
(by 'on the net', I mean on my 3D paper scientist's net and not the internet)
Good day, one and all.
Today, I continued on the net for my scientist character, and I have just noticed that the majority of what I am explaining is implied in the title and in the little message in brackets, making this paragraph a bit superfluous. Tsk.
DARN DARN DARN!
Well, that's basically the gist of it. To spare any further embarrassment I am going to end this entry now.

Pretend that the date for this is Wednesday 30th January, and we'll be just fine...
Good day to you people out there and so forth
Today, being Wednesday (ahem), I began to work on my net for the character of the professor. He has a great name - I think it's something like Professor Gerhardt Sebastian von Schreck. Now you look me in the eye (see top of page) and tell me that that isn't an awesome name for a creepy mad scientist.
He looks creepy as well. Because he is still in net form, the top of his head is facing the same way as his face and it looks like Prof. von Schreck has a really tall head, like that chap of Star Wars, er - erm - Ki Adi Mundi. Looks a bit like that, it does, which would probably work anyway, as von Schreck is meant to be an evil genius.
Anyhoo, cheerio then. B'bye.

What I did today
Basically, I compiled a lot of images of robots and scientists for inspiration, as the characters I am doing are robots and scientists.
Cheerio.
Cheerio.
Sorry about the lateness, folks
I apologise for how apallingly late this post is. You see, I had... to do... something... involving... er... crackers. An unforeseen cracker-related incident forced me to abandon my post as a blog poster for a week. Laziness was not a contributing factor. How dare you. I'll keep you posted, anyhow.

FINISHED!
Ladies and Gentlemen...
I am proud to announce that I have finished my project diary!
I suppose you were expecting something more interesting after that build-up. For that, I can only apologise. Sorry 'bout that.
Keep on blog-goggling my square-eyed chums!

More Enthralling Work on the Project Plan
Guten Morgen, meine Freunden.
How exciting. Today, I continued working on the project plan, but there was no sense of excitement in the air for me. As an avid artist, the lack of graphics work in this graphics project is beginning to gnaw away at my patience like a hamster nibbling away at the plastic covering of a live power cable. It's only a matter of time before my sanity gives way and blasts little Hammy to kingdom come...

Project Plan
Earlier today, we used our lesson time to create a project plan in the aptly-titled Microsoft Project. We set the fiddly little settings that you would usually forget about, like the measurements of time given (hours, days, months, etc.) and when in the future no tasks should be set, such as during the holidays (ha!).
After that captivating activity, we started plotting future tasks onto the plan. We had to divide the tasks from sub-tasks, and assign the tasks the corresponding sub-tasks. How enthralling.

Welcome One and All
Hello there.
Welcome to my brand new blog about a DiDA (Diploma in Digital Applications) graphics project I am currently working on. Well, I say that. I haven't really started yet. I have been officially on this project for twenty-seven minutes exactly, and this is the outcome.
I'll keep you posted.
Promise.
